Eastside Community Network (ECN) has been an important part of Detroit’s east side community for over 40 years. From community economic development programs to sustainable neighborhood initiatives, ECN lives their mission to develop people, places and plans for sustainable growth on Detroit’s east side. With a 17,000-square-foot community center that provides holistic wellness activities, known as The Stoudamire, the organization envisions the east side of Detroit as a community of choice where residents can live, work, play, and thrive.
In 2025, ECN made the decision to transition to solar energy, allowing them to reduce their carbon footprint and save significant money on their energy bills. The transition to solar energy aligns with ECN’s climate equity goals. As a leader in the urban climate resilience space, ECN looks forward to reinvesting their solar savings into policy advocacy, infrastructure development, and community education that promotes climate resiliency.
