Bring Solar to Your Community
Are you a college student passionate about renewable energy and looking to make an impact in your community? Become a RE-volv Solar Ambassador and help bring clean, renewable solar energy to a local nonprofit near your university!
Through the Solar Ambassador Fellowship Program, you’ll have the opportunity to spearhead a solar project for a local community-serving nonprofit using RE-volv’s innovative solar financing model. As a Solar Ambassador, you’ll also lead a grassroots educational campaign to spread solar and renewable energy education on campus and in your community.

Requirements
- Form a team of college students or community members.
- Get trained! Complete our online Training Course and virtual Solar Ambassador Training Retreat in the fall.
- Work with community-serving nonprofits in your community to help them go solar with RE-volv.
- Educate your community and host events about the benefits of solar and renewable energy.
- The Solar Ambassador Program is open to students and community members located in the United States.
Benefits of Being a Solar Ambassador
Since 2014, RE-volv has trained nearly 400+ Solar Ambassadors at 30+ universities across the country.
As a Solar Ambassador, you’ll receive training in solar energy, technology, finance, and policy, event planning, project management, communications, and community engagement - all the skills needed to help bring solar to a nonprofit near your university!
Training and educational opportunities include our Solar Ambassador Training Course, a 2-day virtual Leadership Summit, and monthly webinars with industry experts from leading environmental organizations and solar companies. Ambassadors will also receive 1:1 support and mentorship from RE-volv throughout the program.
The Solar Ambassador Program helps college students launch their careers in solar, renewable energy, and sustainability fields. Many of our program alumni are now employed at top solar companies, including Telsa Solar and Sunrun, in addition to Rocky Mountain Institute, AmeriCorps, environmental and engineering firms, and much more.

The Solar Ambassador Team at the University of Dayton helped bring solar to Oak Tree Corner in Fall 2021 and celebrated with a Solar Ribbon Cutting.

The Solar Ambassadors at the UCSD joined thousands of solar employees in a rally to help save solar in California from proposed net metering changes.

RE-volv's Solar Ambassador Fellowship
The Solar Ambassador Fellowship is a year-long fellowship for college students who want to help a community-serving organization near their campus go solar! RE-volv trains ambassadors in solar policy, community engagement, and project management. In turn, the Solar Ambassadors educate their campus communities about solar energy, develop a deep understanding of the energy sector, produce a tangible reduction in carbon emissions, and build a national network of environmental stewards.
