Benefits of Being a Solar Ambassador

Since 2014, RE-volv has trained nearly 400+ Solar Ambassadors at 30+ universities across the country.

As a Solar Ambassador, you’ll receive training in solar energy, technology, finance, and policy, event planning, project management, communications, and community engagement - all the skills needed to help bring solar to a nonprofit near your university!

Training and educational opportunities include our Solar Ambassador Training Course, a 2-day virtual Leadership Summit, and monthly webinars with industry experts from leading environmental organizations and solar companies. Ambassadors will also receive 1:1 support and mentorship from RE-volv throughout the program.

The Solar Ambassador Program helps college students launch their careers in solar, renewable energy, and sustainability fields. Many of our program alumni are now employed at top solar companies, including Sunrun, Rocky Mountain Institute, Mosaic, Solstice environmental and engineering firms, and many more.

All Ambassadors receive a certificate of completion at the end of the program year and we’ll work with graduating seniors to connect you to our employer partners.

Commitment to Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Justice

RE-volv’s mission to empower people and communities to invest in renewable energy is predicated on the belief that clean energy is for everyone and that includes clean energy careers. We cannot achieve our vision of a world where all communities are thriving powered by clean energy without the voices, talent, and creativity of those who have been historically left out of the solar revolution.

The Solar Ambassador Program is an opportunity for any student, regardless of the available courses at their school, background, race, or gender, to access solar education and career connections. RE-volv makes an intentional effort to recruit a diverse cohort of Ambassadors each program year and partners with employers who share our values.

Solar Ambassador Testimonials

Being a RE-volv Solar Ambassador gives me a sense of leadership that is important when advancing my career. I have learned accountability, the push to complete a project from start to finish and a better grasp on handling any challenges thrown my way.
Danielle Kvadas, Coastal Carolina University Solar Ambassador 2018 - 2021
There is a place for everyone in RE-volv. You can learn about anything from finance to communication to videography. If you join, there is no way you will not develop a skill which will carry over into your career in some way, shape, or form.
Sabato (Sam) Dasco, University of Dayton Solar Ambassador 2018 - 2021
I became a RE-volv Solar Ambassador because I think solar energy is contagious and I want to help bring that to my community at college. I have become much more aware about clean energy and feel that I can be an advocate at the state level for legislation.
Kiara Nia Smith, Dickinson College Solar Ambassador 2020 - 2021
