Monterey Manor is a mobile home park located in Montclair, California that is owned and managed by Augusta Communities LLC, a California nonprofit housing organization founded in 1998 that provides affordable housing opportunities for households of modest means through the acquisition, rehabilitation, and preservation of existing manufactured housing communities. Monterrey Manor is one of Augusta’s many communities and one of the four communities managed by Augusta that has gone solar with RE-volv!
How Monterey Manor Serves their Residents
There are a total of 140 homes within the Monterey Manor community that serves 460+ residents, including 130 children and 70 seniors. Approximately 85% of the residents are of moderate to low income households.
As a nonprofit housing organization, Augusta Communities provides numerous services and programs that help assist their residents. Monterey Manor provides its residents with community building activities, including movie nights, a holiday light contest, emergency preparedness classes, and a summer camp for the community’s youth. Monterey Manor also hosts a number of academic enrichment programs for the youth who live in the community, including a free library, school supply giveaway, and a college scholarship program. English as a Second Language classes are offered for free to all residents of the community.
Solar Savings for Monterey Manor
By going solar with RE-volv, Monterey Manor will save more than $3,000,000 over the course of the solar system’s lifetime. Monterey Manor can reinvest these savings back into their community and their resident programing. These savings can go towards supporting more college scholarships through their scholarship offering, can provide additional English as a Second Language Classes, and support community upgrades and events.
