Church of Second Chances is a vibrant congregation located in the heart of Palm Desert, California. With weekly services held on Sunday mornings and Wednesday evenings, the church opens its doors to anyone seeking restoration and redemption. Its mission is to be a Christ-centered, Spirit-filled community, driven by the presence of God and strengthened through meaningful relationships and discipleship.

With the support of RE-volv, Church of Second Chances is taking a bold step to align its spiritual mission with climate action by installing a 13 kW rooftop solar system. This transition will dramatically reduce the church’s electricity costs, allowing it to redirect savings toward vital ministries, youth programs, and outreach efforts.

Inspiring a Ripple of Change in the Coachella Valley

Once installed, the system will not only serve the needs of the congregation, but also act as a catalyst for solar adoption throughout the Coachella Valley. When a trusted community institution like Church of Second Chances goes solar, it demonstrates what’s possible for others—whether congregants, local nonprofits, or neighbors. This is what we call the Solar Seeding Effect—one project inspiring many. As solar panels go up, so too does the visibility of clean energy as a real, accessible solution.

RE-volv’s unique financing model—made possible by the federal Direct Pay provision—removes financial barriers that often prevent small and mid-sized nonprofits from going solar. By providing zero-down, no-risk solar loans, RE-volv ensures that organizations like Church of Second Chances can benefit from clean energy without needing upfront capital or technical expertise.
