Our Commitment to Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Justice

RE-volv was started in 2011 to accelerate the equitable adoption of clean energy at the community level by providing people with the tools, financing, and support to spearhead local solar projects and actively participate in solving the climate crisis.

There are over 1.5 million nonprofit organizations nationwide that provide critical services to their communities, each with unique needs and circumstances. These nonprofits face major barriers to going solar, including access to financing and lack of awareness or time to oversee solar projects. By providing access to zero-down solar financing to community-serving nonprofits in historically excluded communities, RE-volv aims to spur new conversations at the community level about the benefits, affordability and accessibility of clean energy, the importance of storage solutions for resilience in the face of increased climate impacts, as well as policy advocacy efforts community members can support.

RE-volv believes this work can support the shift from an extractive to a regenerative economy. An economy where the benefits of locally-owned and produced clean energy are strengthening communities disproportionately affected by the climate crisis.
