Hacienda is a mobile home park community located in Montclair, California, which is run by Augusta Communities, a nonprofit founded in 1998 to provide affordable housing to households with low to moderate incomes. Augusta Communities mission is to, “build strong and vibrant communities by fostering partnerships, cultivating resources and developing programs that enrich the quality of life for residents of Augusta Communities.” 

Hacienda is a 204-space mobile home neighborhood located in Montclair, California that provides affordable housing for low to modest income families. Hacienda provides its residents with a number of services that build community and help support academic enrichment for the community’s youth. 

To build community, Hacienda offers its residents a number of services, including emergency preparedness classes and a summer camp open for free to youth in the community. Hacienda’s Good Neighbor Award provides deserving families in the community with free exterior home improvement upgrades to enhance the community. Hacienda also has a well-rounded academic enrichment program available to residents, which includes access to a free community library, a yearly school supply giveaway, and a scholarship program for residents. Hacienda also offers free English as a Second Language (ESL) classes for both children and adults within the community and offers a free after school Homework Club to provide students with assistance on their homework.  

Going Solar with RE-volv 

RE-volv works with community-serving nonprofits to help nonprofits, such as Hacienda at Augusta Communities, go solar at no upfront cost. Over the lifetime of the project, Hacienda will save over $1.8 million dollars on their electricity bills. These savings can go to support Hacienda’s numerous community programs, including the school supply giveaway, ESL classes, and Scholarship Program.
