Solidarity and commitment to racial justice and equity in America
RE-volv is
committed to racial justice and equity in America and supports the Movement for Black Lives.
RE-volv staff and board members are heartbroken, outraged, and demanding justice for the murders of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, Tony McDade, Rayshard Brooks, and far too many others. Their deaths remind us of the systemic racism that America must still overcome.
As an organization fighting for climate justice, we know that racial justice is inexorably linked to all of our work. (For more on this subject, read this, this, and this.) Bringing more solar to Black, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPOC) led/serving communities is a part of this fight and is a top priority for RE-volv.
While racism in America is not new to anyone, the moment demands that we step up our efforts to fight and uproot structural inequality more than ever before. This means we all must spend time reflecting on how we are showing up for Black lives and what more we can do.
At this time, one thing we all can do is learn more and support the Movement for Black Lives by volunteering our time and donating to organizations on the front lines. Please join us! Here are some links to get you started:
