Dear RE-volv family,
This year, much like last year, has been tough on everyone. The pandemic continues to rage. The impacts of climate change are getting worse by the passing day. And just as we thought Congress was about to pass the most significant climate legislation we’ve ever seen, the Build Back Better Act negotiations came to a screeching halt.
I think we can all agree that we’ve seen brighter days. And yet, if the adage is true, it’s always darkest before the dawn. Where, then, can we find the courage to forge ahead?
I think we find that courage by working together. By joining hands, supporting each other, and putting our shoulders to the wheel.
We who care for the planet and the people on it are posed with a daunting task - to continue to work for a more sustainable equitable future - despite the setbacks, in the face of the storms bearing down on us. And that’s not easy. Our generation is being called upon to implement climate solutions at scale despite the fierce opposition, driven mostly by greed, ignorance, and partisan politics.
For the past ten years, people like you have come together to support RE-volv’s vision of a prosperous clean energy future for everyone - by volunteering, donating, storytelling, and building solar projects in your communities.
We’re proud of what we’ve accomplished together. Over 3 megawatts of solar have been deployed in 12 states helping nearly 50 nonprofits save close to $20 million on their electric bills through these efforts. And while the doubters cling tight to the fossil fuel age of the past, these community-based organizations are pioneers, pointing us to a brighter clean energy future today.
You can be a part of the solution. As we wrap up 2021 and look forward to a brighter tomorrow, we need not wait for hope to come our way. Get involved with RE-volv, take action to support the just clean energy transition, and know that when we work together, there’s nothing we can’t accomplish.
